José María Zavala (Madrid, 1962) graduated with a degree in information sciences at the University of Navarre and is an author of reference for popular history books in Spain. A researcher in the archives and files of the House of Bourbon, he has published such important books as Dos infantes y un destino (Two Heirs and One Destiny), La maldición de los Borbones (The Curse of the Bourbons), Bastardos y Borbones (Bastards and Bourbons), and Infantas (Princesses). Among his major works are La pasión de José Antonio (The Passion of José Antonio, 2011), now in its seventh edition, and La pasión de Pilar Primo de Rivera (The Passion of Pilar Primo de Rivera, 2013), published with access to the private archive of the founder of the Women’s Section of the Falangist party, which her great nephew and legal executor allowed the author to access for the first time ever.
