Pablo Rodríguez Rodríguez (Asturias, 1972) is a doctor in computer science and an expert in Internet technologies. He is currently executive director of Telefónica Innovation Alpha, a research unit whose aim is to create moonshots, projects that face the great challenges of society with radical ideas and pioneering technology. In his more than twenty years of experience he has worked for several emerging companies in Silicon Valley and companies such as Microsoft Research and Bell Labs, he has been the scientific and innovation director of Telefónica and assistant professor at Columbia University (New York). After receiving his PhD in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, he developed a research career for which he received the Prix La Recherche, Test of Time and the IEEE Fellow and ACM Fellow awards from the US academies of engineering and computer science. He is also co-founder of Data Transparency Lab, a privacy NGO.
